Neil Gaiman rocks my world.

I just read this on his blog:

"I know that David Tennant's Hamlet isn't till July. And lots of people are going to be doing Dr Who in Hamlet jokes, so this is just me getting it out of the way early, to avoid the rush...

'To be, or not to be, that is the question. Weeelll.... More of A question really. Not THE question. Because, well, I mean, there are billions and billions of questions out there, and well, when I say billions, I mean, when you add in the answers, not just the questions, weeelll, you're looking at numbers that are positively astronomical and... for that matter the other question is what you lot are doing on this planet in the first place, and er, did anyone try just pushing this little red button?' "

but not quite. Happy May Day/Beltaine everyone!

I had to laugh to myself, during the performance of "Midsummer" tonight, at the line:
"No doubt they rose up early
To do observance to the rites of May..."

Although, I do wonder, why would they be doing the rites of May on Midsummer's Night? Hmmmm....

Woot!

Survived the joint-opening of Midsummer and Renn Fest!

Slept 10 hours last night.

Voice is tired, so I'm taking it easy today.

Was great to see everyone! I think "Half Pint" (TQA w/out Pete) was a success, though Pete was much missed.

Please come support my 80's cover band, Great Scott! this Friday, March 28, at Slapshots in Woodstock. There's a $5 cover, but we'll be rockin' the fun 80's tunes from 9:30 PM to 1:30 AM.

Slapshots is up 575, off the Towne Lake Parkway exit. Take a right off the exit, a left at the first light, and a left into the parking lot of Slapshots. (It looks like an old 50's diner from the outside, and you can see it across from you off the exit ramp.)

Hope to see you there!

Eep!

Three of the most important people in my life share today as their birthday!!!

My Dad, the first "most important man in my life", who told me bedtime stories, gave me eskimo kisses, took me on my grand college audition tour, and who I always looked up to. Still do.

My Aunt, who is also my Godmother, with whom I spent many a summer as a little girl up through my teen years, took me to Sea World and Disney World, and bought me my pretty-pretty-princess wedding gown.

And my hubby, the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] captnsparrow, who is a loving, wonderful husband, and who puts up with all of my crazy schedules and makes me pirate coats and calls me his Snuggs.

Happy birthday, with lots of love!!!

and I'll shamelessly promote what I want to!

First, shameless promotion of the other person variety.

My good friend [livejournal.com profile] hazelrah1 was diagnosed with ALS. She is an amazing, inspiring woman who has been very active in DragonCon/LOTR/Harry Potter fandoms over the years, and her equally awesome hubby, [livejournal.com profile] btp_aome came up with a great idea-get her cast as an extra in the upcoming "Hobbit" movie. To that end, he's started an online petition. Please go visit and sign it at www.projectfiver.com. It would mean a lot to me, and to her.

ETA: On the webpage, it says it's a secret. However, she was presented with the petition and then current signatures at her birthday dinner last Saturday night, so post away!

Second, happiest of birthdays to [livejournal.com profile] elvishtard and [livejournal.com profile] scotia_sammyjo! There are a lot of fabulous people on my f-list who have March birthdays.

Third, my 80's band is playing again! This time it's Friday, March 28, at Slapshots (soon to be known as Live at 575), in Woodstock. Slapshots is right off 575 (hence the new name) at the Towne Lake Parkway exit. Literally, if you get off the exit, it's right across the road from you. There is a $5 cover, but we'll be playing from 9:30 PM to 1:30 AM, so you'll definitely get your money's worth! :) Check our myspace page for more info: www.myspace.com/greatscottatlanta

Thus ends the shameless promotion...for now...

[livejournal.com profile] lovely_fatima tagged me, so here goes!

A. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag seven people to do the same.
C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it".

1. For the first time in my life, I have a cat. I've always been allergic before now, but I've managed to acclimate myself to [livejournal.com profile] captnsparrow's cat, Jake. Jake has now adopted me, and will come to me before he goes to Wade. He's a male cat...he likes the ladies. ;) In fact, he's sitting on the arm of my computer chair right now. Not sure exactly what breed he is, but we think part Maine Coon.

2. I have absolutely no visual artistic talent whatsoever. I can barely draw stick-figures.

3. The necklace I wear everyday has a Jerusalem Cross charm, that is actually from Jerusalem and has been to the Vatican and been blessed by Pope John Paul II. An old friend of mine went on a pilgrimage and brought it back for me. It also has a moon and star charm, because the moon is my ruling sign (Cancer).

4. My Dad, my hubby, and my only maternal aunt (who is also my godmother) all share the same birthday (March 16). Obviously
not the same year, though. ;)

5. I never learned to ride a bicycle.

6. I wear vanilla scented stuff, because it's one of the few scents I can wear that don't make me sneeze. Florals or musks-forget it! Vanilla, cinnamon, and the like are okay. Stupid allergies.

7. My gypsy character came from a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. My then-boyfriend basically created a character for me who was what he imagined I would be if I were a DnD character...a gypsy bard. Obviously, it stuck. ;)

Okay, I tag [livejournal.com profile] chatdecalicot, [livejournal.com profile] maddykins, [livejournal.com profile] pktaxwench, [livejournal.com profile] froofie, [livejournal.com profile] foehelm, [livejournal.com profile] tempest_gypsy, and [livejournal.com profile] disbandedtoastr.

Question

Does anyone out there in LJ-land have any good workout DVD's they'd recommend? I'd prefer something dance-y and fun. Beginning bellydance? Hip hop? Something like that.

I gotta do SOMETHING to get off my butt and motivated! Specially if I want to wear my Tink costume again anytime soon. I'm not feeling very pixieish.

And I'm cross-posting all over the place, so I'm apologizing now if you've seen this once or twice... ;)

My 80's band, Great Scott!, is playing again, on Friday, Feb. 1 at Nemoe's in Norcross. We'll be playing a whole bunch of fun 80's favorites from 9 PM to Midnight. Please come out and support us!

I can also offer you a coupon!

Hello all!

If you're in town for the holidays, and looking for a pre-New Years' Eve celebration, come rock out with Great Scott! on Saturday, December 29, at the Little River Grill on Bells Ferry Road in Woodstock!

Little River Grille Little River Sports Bar and Grille 6979 Bells Ferry Road Canton, GA 30114. It says Blind Justice are playing but really, it's us, we promise.

We'll be playing tons of 80's pop, rock, and dance favorites from 8:30 PM to 1 AM! If we get a good showing, it could become a regular gig for us, so please come help us out!

Check our myspace page for more information!

Yes, it's (WAY!) OTP, but we promise it will be fun and worth your while.

To all my friends: Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Blessed Solstice, Happy (belated) Hanukkah, Happy New Year! Whichever holiday(s) you celebrate, I hope they are filled with fun, laughter, friends and family, and all the things you hold dear.

As a holiday offering, my friend Alex sent this to me. It's awesome!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

I've got a lot to be thankful for:
A wonderful husband
A loving and supportive family
Fabulous friends
An adorably, snuggly kitty
A nice house (that is currently in the process of getting even nicer)
Food on the table
RAIN!
A fun job-both the "day" one and the actor/musician/singer one ;)

I hope everyone has a wonderful day, and doesn't stuff themselves TOO full of turkey, turducken, tofurkey, or other food of choice.

Love to all!

Woo hoo!

The Police concert was made of AWESOME! They're sounding fabulous, and I couldn't have asked for better company. :)

However, if you're afraid of heights, think twice about buying seats in the 300 ("nosebleed") section of PHillips Arena. Because they are scary. Like, my quote of the night was: "I really wish we had seats where we could get up and dance, instead of me being scared for my life to stand up!"
tinkpixie0621: (Default)
Please help us fill our houses this Thursday and Friday!

The Atlanta Shakespeare Company would like to offer you 2-for-1 tickets in any seating section to the 7:30 PM performances of King John at the New American Shakespeare Tavern on Thursday, November 8 and Friday, November 9.

We are located at 499 Peachtree Street, 4 blocks south of the Fox Theatre and across the street from Crawford Long Hospital.

Seating starts 75 minutes in advance and is first-come, first-served within each section. Food and beverage service also begins at that time. Food and beverage service is separate from the ticket price and optional.

Patrons must call for reservations and mention this discount: 404-874-5299 x0. Offer valid on adult price tickets only.

They can also visit www.shakespearetavern.com for more information.

This offer is not valid on tickets that have already been purchased.

Sorry for those of you who get this multiple times...cross posting and trying to spread the word!

Hey all,

Shameless self-promotion time...(sorry for those of you who already saw this in [livejournal.com profile] captnsparrow's journal).

Our 80's band, Great Scott!, just got offered a gig at Wild Wings on Roswell Road (Eastlake Shopping Center) in Marietta, this Saturday night at 10 PM. Nothing like a little advance notice, huh?

http://www.wildwingcafe.com/

So please come out and support us if you can. If we play well and get a big enough crowd, this may become a regular thing.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] captnsparrow was featured in [livejournal.com profile] jenniebreeden's comic Devil's Panties (not Satanic porn, honest!) http://devilspanties.keenspot.com/d/20071006.html
