Profound experience

Don't know why I was just thinking of this, but wanted to share. I think it was because I just walked through our empty rehearsal room upstairs at the Theatre.

One of my favorite moments of 2003:

I was at the Tavern, on a weekday afternoon with no rehearsals going on, so the building was fairly empty. Especially now that most of the offices have moved upstairs.

Had to walk back to the kitchen to tell Nancy something, and as I wandered through, I noticed that Zach had the TQA CD on. He must have been cleaning to it...he likes music as he cleans. But he was not in the theatre.

As I walked back through to the lobby, the "Shalom and Farewell" sequence was playing. The theatre was empty, most of the lights dimmed. No one was in the theatre itself except for me. I paused for long enough to listen to that song, in the half darkened, empty space.

Putting it down in words just doesn't do it justice...but man, was it a powerful moment. Dolph wrote SUCH a beautiful song! Brings tears to my eyes every time.

At least not with this experience. (Though rumor has it this place IS haunted...)

Just a really cool moment in time. :)

It was amazing. Just standing there, letting Dolph's wonderful song and the image of these three characters (who have really started to have a life of their own in the heads and hearts of Dolph, Rivka, and myself) wash over me.
