I am having one of those days. It seems to be going around.

So, to that end, tell me what's making you happy today? One thing, five things, as many as you wanna list!

1. Gorgeous cool fall weather this morning!
2. For 2 days, I get to work in the sunlight and not in my cave. LOL
3. DCon is this weekend! I have a new costume! It's not Renn Garb! (Not that I don't love my Garb, but it's fun to do something different.)

What'cha got?

Also, for those who want to know:

TQA will be playing Thursday night at 7PM (ish) in the Marriott Atrium Ballroom (with Pandora Celtica and DCon favorites Emerald Rose!), Friday at 6:30 PM on the Hyatt Concourse, and Friday at 8:30 PM as the House Band for the Winespring Inn (Wheel of Time track party). And you can find us or our fabulous helpers at the band table, which has been moved to the Marriott Convention level.

Alright...back to the grind.

I just do not understand the people who get their jollies out of posting spoilers.

If you're not busy this Saturday night, Jan 24, my 80's cover band, Great Scott!, is performing at Midtown Tavern.

It's inside the perimeter, on Piedmont Road, between Pine St and North Ave, right next to the post office and across from the Publix/Walgreens.

We'll be jamming out 3 sets chock full of fun 80's hits starting at 9 PM. No cover! Just come on out and have a good time! (And tip your wait staff/bartenders!) ;)

Hope to see you there! :)

Just wanted to let you all know that if you don't have Halloween plans yet, Great Scott! will be playing all sorts of fun 80's tunes (including some Halloween favorites!) at Bogey's in Woodstock this Friday night!

There's no official word on costumes, but we'll be dressed up, so come in costume, or just come in civvies and party with us! (But please, come dressed!) ;)

We'll be jamming out the 80's favorites from 9 PM to 1:15 AM. Hope you can make it!

Take 75 north to 575 north, and take exit 8-Towne Lake Pkwy

Turn left onto Towne Lake Pkwy. When you see the QT, turn right onto Buckhead Crossing, and Bogey's will be on your left.

And even if you can't make it, Happy Halloween!

I know many of you are walking yourselves, or have already sponsored one of us who is, but here goes anyway!

And thanks to those who are walking or have already donated (or both!) to me, or to one of the other members of Team Fiver!

We are walking November 8 to Defeat ALS.

The fabulous, beautiful, spirited, funny, and all around wonderful Mel, aka [livejournal.com profile] hazelrah1 was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) earlier this year. We are walking with her, and in her honor, because she has touched all of us and made our world a better place.

I know times are tough right now. I know there's not a lot to spare. But if you have an extra $1 or $5 or whatever, please consider donating to the Walk and to Team Fiver!

A few facts about ALS:
It is a progressive, fatal, neurodegenerative disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. It is estimated that in the advanced stages, care can cost an average of $200,000 a year.

The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages two to five years from the time of diagnosis.

ALS can strike anyone. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.

This really sucks, and Mel and her family deserve so much better. So if you have a little to spare, please help out!

Have a great opening weekend!

Please help Team Fiver!

I know many of you on my friends' list are walking, or have already sponsored someone who is, but if you haven't...

On November 8, there is a Walk to Defeat ALS. I am walking with, and in honor of, the fabulous Mel, aka [livejournal.com profile] hazelrah1. Mel is one of the best people I know. She is spirited, fiercly loyal, has an amazing spirit and a great sense of humor. She is a proud Tolkien and Harry Potter geek, and has been on staff for the Tolkien and YA Lit tracks at DragonCon for many years. She was diagnosed earlier this year with ALS.

I am walking with Team Fiver on Nov. 8. If you haven't yet, please consider sponsoring me and making a donation (however big or small).

Snagged from everyone...when you see this, quote Doctor Who.

"Not bad for a man in his jim-jams, very Arthur Dent... now there was a nice man."

since I'm playing Hero in the show!

The Atlanta Shakespeare Company would like to offer you 2-for-1 on adult price tickets in any seating section to the 7:30 PM performance of Much Ado about Nothing at the New American Shakespeare Tavern on Friday, June 20, 2008.

We are located at 499 Peachtree Street, 4 blocks south of the Fox Theatre and across the street from Crawford Long Hospital.

Seating starts 75 minutes in advance and is first-come, first-served within each section. Food and beverage service also begins at that time. Food and beverage service is separate from the ticket price and optional.

Patrons must call for reservations and mention the password “Dogberry”: 404-874-5299 x0. Offer valid on adult price tickets only.

You can also visit The Tavern's website for more information.

This offer is not valid on tickets that have already been purchased.

Apologies, cause I'm cross-posting all over the place.

I am happy-got to sleep in this morning, and though it is supposed to be 97 degrees today, I can spend it inside in air-conditioning, and not ouside in a bodice! HUZZAH!

However, the City of Atlanta is pissing me off with all these lane and exit closures. Ugh.
tinkpixie0621: (Default)
Safe journeys to everyone coming in for Invasion, and anyone travelling this holiday weekend!

Looking forward to seeing all the Rogues and Wenches! Huzzah!

Those of you who can't make the journey this year, for whatever reason, we will raise a glass to you! You will be greatly missed!
