Big thanks to everyone who sent me birthday messages, hugs, cards, presents, thoughts, whatever. I had a great birthday weekend, basically, surrounded by in-person and online love from an amazing circle of family and friends. I really am blessed in the company I keep. :)

I got lots of awesome loot, too...but I have to mention that my favoritest gift is from [livejournal.com profile] yamguitar adn Rivka, who got me (as yet to be delivered, but they're coming right to my door!) custom Ariana Pellayle guitar pics, featuring the moon and star logo that is embroidered on my bodice and skirt. How freaking cool is that! :)

Thanks also to everyone who has come or is coming this weekend to see "Cabaret." I'd say you've only got 4 more chances, but they're all sold out! Woot! It's been an amazing, inspiring, at times difficult, emotional process, and I'm really proud that I got to be a part of this show.

And as soon as it closes, I can concentrate on the wedding. Less than three months away! *tries not to panic*

Been a while since I posted. I've been keeping busy with GARF, work, 80's band, and Cabaret rehearsals. Everything is going well, but I don't have much free time.

But I just had to post about Caberet. I was a little worried last week, during the dance rehearsals, because things were raunchy, and sexy, and I was a little uncomfortable, both for myself, and for the Tavern's audience.

But Tuesday night, at the read/sing-thru, I realized...we're gonna have a great show.

The script is so powerful, juxtaposing the fun, free, devil may care attitude of the Kit Kat Klub, and what is going on in Berlin, Germany outside of the Klub in 1930. And our leads, they get it. There was already some amazing stuff happening, even just in the read-thru.

I'm excited to get this show in front of an audience. People are going to be shocked, they're going to be moved, it's gonna make 'em think. And make 'em laugh. And make 'em cry, too.

Plus, Jeff McKerley will be in fishnets. Wheeeee!

Heroes rocks my planet. George Takei (Sulu from Star Trek) guest starred, and drove off in a limo with the license plate NCC-1701. And I caught it. And impressed [livejournal.com profile] captnsparrow with my geekiness.

Go me.

Also, I will be a Kit Kat girl in Cabaret at the Tavern. Woot!

Also, 3 people in the last week thought I was 23 instead of 29. THAT did numbers for my self-confidence.
