Hey, AOME'ers...just in case you were wondering, elvishtard and m_cubicle got here okay last night, despite weather and plane drama. Late, though, so I haven't even SEEN elvishtard yet.

Hoping maddykins got in alright.

Looking forward to crazy piratical fun tonight! Got my pirate wench costume ready to go!!!


Oh, and on a totally other topic...I have to vent.

If you're travelling to another city, and you call a theatre and leave a message to make reservations, and you're staying at a major chain hotel, pleasepleaseplease at least leave the hotel number and/or street and/or section of town that you're in, so the nice attendant can call you back without having to call 5 other hotels just to find out if you're there. Or just leave your freaking cell phone number. Really. I'd rather call long distance than waste half an hour calling a bunch of hotels with, "Could you tell me if you have a guest by the name of *stupidasshat*?"

If they haven't called you yet, I'm putting $2 on them just showing up and going, "Well, we TRIED to make a reservation because we SUPPORT THE ARTS, but apparently YOU PEOPLE are too busy to call us back. I don't suppose you have any tickets left?"

Unless, of course, they are more the types to just shrug, "Guess they don't have any tickets" and not show up at all.

He did call back, and was actually very nice. And I managed to (politely) find out where he was staying, and assure him I did try to call but couldn't find him! The room was in his wife's name, so of course they (the hotel desk folks) wouldn't release info to me.
