This is love

Neil Gaiman rocks my world.

I just read this on his blog:

"I know that David Tennant's Hamlet isn't till July. And lots of people are going to be doing Dr Who in Hamlet jokes, so this is just me getting it out of the way early, to avoid the rush...

'To be, or not to be, that is the question. Weeelll.... More of A question really. Not THE question. Because, well, I mean, there are billions and billions of questions out there, and well, when I say billions, I mean, when you add in the answers, not just the questions, weeelll, you're looking at numbers that are positively astronomical and... for that matter the other question is what you lot are doing on this planet in the first place, and er, did anyone try just pushing this little red button?' "

Me too! I can totally hear Ten in my head saying that.

Me too! :) Gaiman's blog does have an LJ feed, btw.

A friend of mine is going to London this fall to see Tennant in Hamlet (with Patrick Stewart as Claudius!), and also in Love's Labour's Lost. I am SO SO SO jealous!!!

*squee*

That was brilliant! John was in the other room so called out for his attention and read it out loud to him in as good a Tennant impression as I could thereby discovering it's a lot of fun to read in the style of the Doctor!!! (He said I actually did capture the pauses and the phrasing pretty well though my accent was *terrible* and of course my voice didn't sound like his. I was proud - LOL)

I'm incredibly jealous of your friend. I hope the production is going to be taped so that the rest of us get a chance to see it as well. :)

AWESOME! :) :) :)

Also, great to see you and John this weekend! :)

David has played roles from Romeo to Touchstone, even the Porter in MacB (on a recorded version) and recently played Berowne in Love's Labour's Lost (which I would think he might be perfect at). He has also played Antipholus in Comedy of Errors, and wait! There's more! He even played Edward the Black Prince in a staged reading of Edward III (and yes, that is a Shakespeare play!) So his background is well known in England, after all his experience with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

BTW: he got the acting bug watching Dr. Who when he was in nappies...;)

Actually, he's playing Berowne in LLL this fall (again?), in rep with Hamlet. Mary R. is going, and I'm so jealous!

*squee* My favorite Doctor is also a Shakespeare geek. Figures, don't it? ;)

I thought he'd done it before, but I bet he does it more than once in any case! He seems a perfect choice for it.

David's talent has blown every single other doctor out of the water ( almost all of whom I adore) and I will be glad when I can get the series DVDs. I have to say the ONLY episode I didn't like WAS the Shakepseare one - loads of cheap tricks and jokes - but I still laughed...

[identity profile] gypsyariana.livejournal.com 2008-05-22 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
He really does. I would love to be able to see him do it!

I have to say, I've never seen the original Dr. Who...got hooked with Nine (Christopher Eccleston) and have just fallen in love with Tennant as Ten. He's just wonderful.

I did like the SHakespeare episode, but I don't have quite as much connection to the source material as you do. ;) I was definitely entertained, though.

Also, here's to hoping the DVD's come down in price!

Neil Gaiman is a god and so is David Tennant. Tennant with Stewart? WOW!

Tennant + Stewart = my little geek girl heart goes *kathud*

I can sooooo hear that in my head. It makes me happy. It makes Nine happy, too.
