I was just posting (because I zoned and forgot to say) that the salts also help with ear infections. I get them often (hence why I can no longer sing... my ears are too damaged and I swear I sound like a cat in heat when I sing above a whisper). Something about those salts helps unplug ear issues for me. But then again, I am just odd like that. ;)
Nothing wrong with antibiotics if they are going to kick the evil infections in the arse!
