I agree... so I gave up and started using only humourous cards that are very generic in who they are for. My stepfather appreciates them, much less problematic than giving him a "dad" card.
Do you scrapbook/cardmake? Because if you do, then you could make your own customized ones. (Basically, find verse in ones you like and alter it yourself on a new card to read what you want it to.) If you don't, I can recommend someone who makes wonderful cards who could be available for hire. :)
