Seriously, I've been battling an ear infection all week. Blech. I went to the doctor on Monday and got antibiotics, but I think I had a touch of the flu, too, because I couldn't keep anything down until Tuesday morning. Icky poo. I'm finally feeling mostly better, except for the fact that my ears keep popping in and out of stuffiness.

But apparently, one of the side effects of the antibiotics I'm on is really lucid dreams. I usually don't remember my dreams, but last night I had two really strange ones.

The first-I was back on my college campus, trying to get ready for class, but people kept coming in and out of my room, either "borrowing" clothes out of my closet or they were people who I didn't feel comfortable changing in front of. So I finally went into my closet to change so no one could see (it was a nice, walk-in closet. w00t!). Then I tried to go to class, but couldn't remember or find my schedule past my first class. Someone invited me to breakfast, but I couldn't go, because I was running late. So I go to try to find the building my first class is in, but it's not where it's supposed to be. Instead, there's a softball field, and someone hits the ball right at me. I'm in a sort of tunnel, and it keeps ricocheting around like in a cartoon. Finally, I'm able to make it to the correct building (which I know in my head is in the WRONG PLACE!) and it's an older building. I have a couple minutes before class, so I run to the restroom...but it's REALLY old and dilapidated and this tiny, grungy room, so nevermind. There was also some strange thing with the flusher and the light switch that I couldn't figure out...like the flusher was on the wall where the light switch should have been....it was bizarre. I don't think I ever made it to class.

The second-I was on my way to GARF, and I'd had some event the night before where I hadn't stayed at home, so I had to make sure I had all my gear with me. I was also driving someone else's car, so there was some weirdness with the keys that I can't quite remember. I got there, parked, started walking to cast call with all my costume pieces, planning on getting ready during the meeting or something, when I realized, I'd forgotten my guitar and my flute!!! I started to panic, ran back to the car to make sure, but nope, no instruments. Went back to cast call, and there were some folks there that were apparently people I'd worked with my first couple of seasons at Faire, who'd come back for a day (though my waking self doesn't recognize them...).
So during the meeting I'm trying to call Mom on my cell phone, because OF COURSE she's coming to Faire and she can swing by and pick them up for me, and I'll have them for Front Gate. But my phone is all messed up somehow, and it doesn't matter how many times I dial the number, or how careful I am, it's the wrong number. Like, I'd press the 7 key and a 1 would show up...the keys were all wrong. I tried about a dozen times, and finally borrowed a phone (from Casey of the Three Ravens), and it was this cute little silver contraption that looked like a makeup compact. But by the time I finally made the call, Mom had already left the house. PANIC!
Of course I woke up before I ever found out if the guitar and flute made it to GARF.

You know I'm going to double, triple, and quadruple check my car before I leave tomorrow.

I just hope my ears pop enough so that I can hear my bandmates to match pitch this weekend. I'm really scared about that, actually. Thankfully, most of the madrigals we do, I stand on the left, with my right ear towards Dolph and Rivka, and that's the "good" ear right now. It was terrifying earlier this week, when I was actually hearing "double"...that is, I'd hear everthing in my left ear about a quarter tone lower and a split second later than I was hearing in my right ear. Thankfully, that's cleared up. *knocks on wood*

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] supergoober and [livejournal.com profile] froofie, my poor partners in sickness this week...I hope you're both feeling better!

Okay...I've wasted enough time at work already...back to it...

Yuck, yuck, yuck!!!!!! I hope the antibiotics and the warmer weather help dry you out and open your ears up, so that you can breathe and hear and perform beautifully (because you always do! :)

Those sounds like dreams I would have- especially the college dream!! I do end to have very vivid dreams, sometimes to the point where I swear I've told someone something and I never did, I just dreamed it. Two nights ago I dreamt I was in Home Depot looking at stuff with Chaz and my family, and someone reminded me I could look at paint chips, and my dream was literally pouring over paint chips to pick colors for the house, but never actually getting to pick any out.

**hugs***
See you this weekend!!!
