Thanks and well wishes to all the Rogues and Wenches who braved the heat and humidity of GARF last weekend.

Healing thoughts and prayers go out to Sir Thomas the Rose Rogue, and our two minstrels injured in the line of duty-Tom Smiter of the Lost Boys and Gallamore the Bard.

All in all, despite the heat, injuries, and drahma that tried to rear its ugly head, I think the weekend was a success! But boy did my feet hurt on Sunday night. And my whole body hurt on Monday. Going to La Fie and talking, no, yelling! over all the noise after a three day weekend is just not a smart idea. My voice still hasn't completely recovered, and it's Friday!

Highlights:
TQA getting to provide the music for tempest_gypsy and tomomallie's wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony, their vows were lovely, and she looked AMAZING! :)

"Susan B Harmony" interrupting one of Joni's sets, and proclaiming herself as the "original protest singer."

The triumphant return of Michael Starr to the village of Newcastle!

I'm sure there's much more...I should have written an entry when it was all fresher in my head.

Boy, was it hot, though! And with the lack of seating in the pub, and the influx of people hanging out in the pub, I didn't sit down much at all. Plus, most of the "Fantasticks" Show, I'm also standing up...my feet were throbbing so bad Sunday night in my little black jazz shoes that I thought they would fall right off.


It's closing weekend of GARF this weekend, and I'm ready for it to be over. I'm ready to have some free time again. Though, knowing me, I won't have too much of it...I always seem to fill up whatever "free time" I might have with something or other! I just need a day to relax with captnsparrow. And another day or several to clean our house!

Thankfully, it's supposed to be cooler this weekend than it was last weekend. There's a reason they wore all those layers in Elizabethan England...it wasn't as bloody hot as Georgia in the summertime!

"Fantasticks"-the show is going well, and is being greeted by very enthusiastic audiences each night, but they're SMALL! Ticket sales are down for the summer. So, if you can, please come. I don't have any discount ticket offers right now, but it's a show with a lot of heart, that will make you laugh, cry, and tap your toes along. Runs through June 25, so there are still 3 full weekends after this one to catch the show. Don't wait until the last minute! :) Also, I have been dubbed by Tony Brown as "the cute mute who plays the flute." Hee!


I had more in my head to say, but I can't remember what it is now. Darnit. Back to work for me, then.

I love the Fantasticks. I wanted to see it when it started (But I get to see it tonight, so it's all good. :)

Semi-related, is the guys doing the complete works of Shakespeare the ones who originated it? I forget the name of the troupe, or I'd look on thier web page.

I am so looking forward to seeing The Fantastics again the last 3 weeks. I just couldn't take working all week, volunteering on Friday at the Tavern before 3 day and closing weekends.
