Double gigging!
Mar. 19th, 2004 04:10 pmPhew! Busy night last night!
Had a great performance of "Midsummer". The audience was packed and very enthusiastic and responsive crowd. My favorite moment was getting the "awww" and applause when all the lovers are finally reunited (with the RIGHT person) at the end and Duke Theseus announces they can all get married. Woo hoo! :)
Got a very nice review in the AJC too!http://www.ajc.com/friday/content/epaper/editions/friday/movies_more_04a5393b8675a00300bd.html
Said a quick hi to Dad and Shannon and the crew they brought, and bolted over to L5P to play the KL show at 9 Lives. Hit every freaking red light on the way, of course, and was a bit frazzled when I got there. Looked hot, though, if I do say so myself. ;) Almost got accosted on the way there...
"Hey girl, you got a minute?"
"No, sorry, I'm due on stage 5 minutes ago."
*bolt*
Matthew was waiting for me at the door, and basically I ran into the club, up onto the stage, where my guitar was ready and tuned and I strapped it on and ZOOM we're off!
I think we played and sang really well, despite the usual "I can't hear anything" problems. Curtis, the sound guy, really seems to dig on what we're doing, and he's defintely more able than most of the other folks we've worked with. Oh, and I got lots of compliments on my cute new red dress. Thanks to the good captain for the suggestion (good taste you have!) and mom for going back with me to get it. :)
OH, and said Captain looked quite smashing in his sparkly blue shirt. Yeah, someone else with good taste picked that one out! ;)
