Old soul....

Thinking about that Tarot Card thing, and the response supergoober had to mine makes me wonder...

I didn't get one of those "higher path" cards. The reason on the website had to do with being a newer soul as opposed to an old soul.

My mom, crazyauntjaynie has always said I'm an old soul...and I think she'd know. I've always had an affinity for old Celtic myths and legends, and Mom swears I lived back then. I had a teacher in high school who always told me I looked like a Renaissance princess. Not that I'd want to go live back then, because I really like my modern conveniences, but it's interesting to think about.

Why are we drawn to certain people? Or interested in certain time periods? My Tia (mom's sister) is a huge Civil War buff and totally convinced she was a nurse back then.

Oh, bummer...I'd really like to post more about this, but I have to get back to work...

I was reading a book on reincarnation and it said that just because one is a newer soul doesn't mean that one hasn't lived before.

Souls take on lives because there's a lesson they needed to learn in that particular life. Sometimes people who have actually lived alot of different lives had done so because they didn't learn lessons they needed to in just one, or because there were alot of things they needed to learn.

You can be someone with an old soul and not have had as many lives, because your soul chose not to.

It works lots of ways.

Oh, hey! I was posting around this idea on your entry earlier (I'm going through all my "friends" in chronological order ;)

The idea karmalingoist had is similar to what I was thinking- old soul that hasn't lived as many lives.

I really believe what you were saying- that we are often drawn to things/ have affinities because our soul lived at that point. I wonder what that says about rennies? Not all of them, necessarily, but alot of us love the time period as much as love a chance to practice our arts.

I also think that we really do re-encounter souls- I don't think we're always stuck in a cycle of interacting with the same souls all the time, but I think we do run into each other, so to speak, on a regular basis. I've been thinking about that alot, because I feel like I've run into you and Lindsay and (well, to save a bunch of space typing names) "the KL family" before. I wonder what it is I am supposed to do? Maybe I'm weird thinking about this (ok, well, we all know I'm weird and freaky, but...) And, if I haven't been an oft-used soul, then I really wonder what's going on ;) ;) ;) Hmm...

I definitely don't think you're weird and freaky ladycheavlier! I too feel this same thing!

I feel the same way about ancient english and celtic myths and legends. But, also, all things native american. I am so drawn to the earth religions and am just convinced I was an indian at one time. I had dreams for years of a man with long black hair, chased by soldiers or something. Was it me or my love? I don't know. Not for nothing do I have wolves all over my house and tattooed on my body! They are my totem.

I'm also fascinated with all things of the Titanic and often wonder if I was on that ship.

Anyway, I'm glad that I can talk about this kind of stuff with people who understand and believe!
